Organizer | Gamaliel of California
Karym Sanchez is a community Organizer with Gamaliel of California and is currently the Lead Organizer of Proyecto Esperanza in San Joaquin and Stanislaus Counties. Proyecto Esperanza is an organization composed primarily of Spanish speaking families that have children with developmental or intellectual disabilities. They are currently organizing to improve service from the educational system and other institutions that provide the service that they need to thrive and live dignified lives.
Karym Sanchez was also the youth organizer for North Bay Organizing Project in Sonoma County where he lead campaigns to reduce school suspensions and expulsions by implementing restorative school discipline, obtain fare-free transit for students, and to implement Ethnic Studies in High Schools.
